Price: $3.75/lb Hanging Weight Plus Processing Cost.

Processing Cost Options:
(1) “Not for ReSale” – $0.80/lb plus $50.00 additional processor fees.
(2) USDA Inspected with weight on package: – $0.88/lb plus $75 additional processor fees.

Total Cost Option (1): $3.75 + $0.80 = $4.55/lb * 700 = $3,185 + $50 additional fees = $3,235 for the whole beef. A half would be $1,617.50, and a quarter would be $808.75.
Total Cost Option (2): $3.75 + $0.88 = $4.63/lb * 700 = $3,241+ $75 additional fees = $3,316 for the whole beef. A half would be $1,658, and a quarter would be $829.00.

Storage Space needed: Last year, one-quarter of the 699 lb hanging weight steer fit in a 152 Quart Igloo Cooler with internal dimensions of 37 inches X 13.5 inches. We anticipate this year’s steers to be of similar weight. (We’re beginning farmers and don’t yet have scales, but their size looks comparable.)

***A lot of folks like grass finished steaks 3/4″ thick. One customer likes them 1” thick. And one likes 3/4″ except they like filets at 1 1/2″.
